Update #8 Spring session is set to begin April 19th. The AHS COVID restrictions still revolve around sanitization, social distancing and groups of 10. Thankfully the outdoor rotary track is a huge space, allowing for a few groups of 10 and some creative traffic mitigation. We are joyfully anticipating the spring season and are always thankful for coaches dedicated to facilitating a program, athletes willing to train and families committed to trusting our program.
Update #7 Winter session was fully cancelled due to the extended lock down. With an ease in restrictions mid February, the Panthers were able to offer a 6 week 4x week session, running 4 different groups on the FLC track.
Update #6 Indoor Season was cut short due to another COVID lock down and athletes registered could opt for programming delivered to them to train individually.
Update #5 INDOOR season at the FLC is beginning Oct 19 with similar protocols as XC & Speed Power programs
UPDATE #4 Athletics Alberta and the City of Medicine Hat have given us the green light to run our XC program along with a modified 5 week Speed/Power program outdoors. Registration was QUICK – lasting only 1 week. Both programs began Aug. 25th. We are currently waiting direction for a move to our Indoor program, which typically begins in early October.
UPDATE #3 Panthers track offers VIRTUAL programming. With Head Coach support, an Instagram page, weekly emails with 2x week progamming and a 1x week Strength/Core based ZOOM workout – we were happy to continue to engage 30+ athletes in a digital world – through the bulk of the COVID shut down.
UPDATE #2 Unfortunately due to the COVID – 19 pandemic and the regulations in place to keep athletes safe, provided by Athletics Alberta, our 2020 Spring Outdoor season is fully cancelled. All families will receive a program refund. We look forward to the day we can safely RETURN TO THE TRACK!
UPDATE #1 Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Panther track spring session start date has been postponed to Monday May 4th, all programs including Mini.
The City of Medicine Hat has cancelled April Park and Rec bookings, so at this time we will optimistically look forward to May. Our proposed season will run 8 weeks, ending June 25th, including Victoria Day.
We anticipate 1 week notice to changes with our May booking, so we will be sure to send out an update April 26th. Should we have to cancel a May/June season, we will be providing full refunds to families, less online processing fees. Our coaches are committed to a track season in some capacity. We will continue to keep the health and wellness of our athletes and fellow residents at heart when planning the 2020 track + field season.
PLEASE NOTE: SOME OPTIONS WILL FILL UP- REGISTER EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.
COACHES ALWAYS WELCOME.
